Home Battery Backup Installation
Quick answer
HomeNow installs home battery systems in Southern California, Nevada and the Phoenix area. A battery keeps the circuits you choose running during a power outage and, with solar, stores daytime power for the evening. It can be added to existing solar or installed on its own.
What's included
Backup power
Automatic switch-over to battery power when the grid goes down.
Circuit planning
We help you choose what stays on: fridge, lights, Wi-Fi, outlets, and AC if capacity allows.
Solar pairing
Store daytime solar for use in the evening when power costs more.
Existing solar
Add a battery to a solar system you already have, where the equipment allows.
Permits & setup
Permits, utility paperwork and app setup.
What affects the price
Measured in kilowatt-hours; more capacity runs more circuits for longer.
Essential circuits only, or most of the home.
Whether the battery charges from solar, the grid, or both.
Some homes need panel work to add backup.
Garage or exterior wall placement and clearances.
Every estimate is free, written and itemized, based on an inspection of your home.

Home Batteries questions
Do I need solar to get a home battery?
No. A battery can charge from the grid and still back up your home during an outage. Paired with solar, it can also store daytime solar power for the evening.
How long will a battery power my home?
It depends on the battery’s capacity and what you run. Essential circuits like the fridge, lights and Wi-Fi use far less than central AC. We size the battery to the circuits you choose and show the expected runtime.
Is a battery better than a generator?
A battery is silent, needs no fuel and switches on automatically, but its runtime is limited by capacity unless solar recharges it. A standby generator runs as long as it has fuel but is loud and needs regular maintenance. Our guide compares both.
