Roofing questions
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most homes take one to three days on site once materials arrive. Large, steep or tile roofs can take longer. Your written estimate includes the expected schedule.
Does homeowners insurance pay for a new roof?
If the damage came from a covered event such as a storm or a fallen tree, insurance often pays for some or all of the repair. Normal wear and age usually are not covered. We document damage with photos you can share with your insurer.
Can a new roof go over the old one?
Some building codes allow one layer of new shingles over an existing layer, but a full tear-off lets us inspect and repair the roof deck underneath. We recommend tear-off in most cases and explain why in your estimate.
Should I replace my roof before installing solar?
If your roof is near the end of its life, yes. Solar panels last for decades, and removing and reinstalling them to replace a roof later adds cost. We inspect the roof as part of every solar estimate.
